CLARION (Dorchester, Clark Co, WI) 08/21/1925 Bobbe, Maude C.
(20 Augl 1925) A wedding of
unusual interest to Dorchester, Clark County, Wis. people took
place at the G. A. Bobbe home yesterday afternoon at 3 p.m., when
their daughter, Maude Celesta, was united in the holy bonds of
matrimony to Mr. Maurice S. Sorenson, by Rev. Nordby of
Baldwin. Elsie Bobbe was
bridesmaid and Lloyd Sorenson acted as best man. The bride was
beautifully gowned in white crepe satin with lace and carried a
bouquet of yellow roses and ferns. Her sister, the bridesmaid, was
dressed in pink taffeta and lace and carried a bouquet of sweet
peas and roses. The groom was attired in dark blue and the best man
wore gray. After the 3
o'clock ceremony, the wedding party drove to the Dake Studio for
photos and then they returned to the Bobbe home where a delicious
three course dinner was served to the bridal party and
relatives. Neither of the
young people need an introduction to our readers as they have been
raised in Dorchester and are of our most popular young folks. Maude
finished High School at Abbotsford, after which she took a course
at Wausau Business College and then she was employed her at the O
& N Lumber Co. office until she accepted a fine position at
Wausau, where she was employed until shortly before her marriage.
Maurice, too, attended school here until he was obliged to go
elsewhere to complete his education, and then he returned home and
was successful enough to get a position at the local bank and the
fact that he is now Cashier speaks well for his business
ability. The Pea Canning
Industry here, too, owes much to him for as the Secretary he has
worked hard to make it a success and by way of showing him that all
appreciated it, the whistle blew a serenade for him shortly after
the ceremony. Mr. and Mrs.
Sorenson left the same evening, accompanied by his brother, Edgar
Sorenson, and wife in their Ford sedan, for an extended wedding
tour through Yellowstone National Park and other points of
interest, where they will spend about three weeks sightseeing. They
will be at home to their friends about Oct. 1. The Clarion joins
their many friends in wishing them abundant success and much
happiness in life's journey. © Every submission is protected by the Digital Millennium Copyright Act
